For more than two decades, Any Baby Can continues to provide a safety net for families of critically and chronically ill children in South Central Texas.
1982 – Initial “seed money” grant received from the Texas Planning Council for Developmental Disabilities to create Project Any Baby Can as a model support center for young children with disabilities.
1984 – Received United Way Funding Allocation.
1985 – Hogg Foundation funds initiate in-home Foster Grandparent Program for Any Baby Can children. Texas Respite Resource Network and Any Baby Can Alliance established.
1987 – Children’s Transplant Association of Texas and the San Antonio Chapter of Sudden Infant Death Syndrome Alliance founded.
1989 – Texas Network for Medically Fragile and Chronically Ill children created to provide statewide advocacy and education.
1991 – Michael’s Place Resource Ctr. Parent Support Groups & Crisis Counseling Services initiated. San Antonio program incorporates & moves from Santa Rosa Children’s Hospital to the South Texas Medical Center. Any Baby Can, Inc. “Texas” office established.
1992 – Caregivers with Heart Initiative developed through Melissa Holliday-Graham Ladensohn Memorial Fund Department of Health/Chronically Ill & Disabled Children’s Program for replication of Any Baby Can, creating an ABC affiliate in Austin and a Small Communities Outreach Unit of Texas in Kerrville serving a six-county area. Sibling Support Groups established. Expansion grant received by Any Baby Can, Inc. of Texas.
1993 – Any Baby Can of Kerrville initiated respite care, counseling services and parent support group. Any Baby Can of Austin launched Holiday Giving and created Lactation Assistance Program for mothers of high-risk, low birth-weight babies from low-income families.
1994 – Any Baby Can of Austin created Family Friends program, counseling services and received a grant to sponsor Austin Respite Network. Any Baby Can of San Antonio participated in federal research grant with University of Texas Health Science Center to study impact of managed health care on South Texas children with special health care needs.
1995 – Any Baby Can of Austin initiated “Sib Shops” workshops And received funding to create a Toy Lending Library for special children called “One Child At A Time” and Fragile Family Care Teams. Any Baby Can of Kerrville created “Special Sibs Saturday” program and received funding for Resource Library.
1996 – Tiny Trax celebrated 300th child served. Any Baby Can of Texas initiated Shaken Baby Syndrome Prevention Campaign.
1997 – Any Baby Can of Texas launches Maternal & Child Health Initiative “A Vision for Children” with a series of ten breakfast briefings & co-sponsorship of Stand for Children Day.
2000 – Austin merges with CEDEN creating Any Baby Can Child & Family Resource Center. Any Baby Can of San Antonio moves to new facility at 217 Howard Street.
2001 – Expansion of the Center for Infant Loss, and establishment of Autism Parent Support Group in San Antonio. Integration of Any Baby Can programs with CEDEN’s initiatives in prenatal parenting, and ECI Programs.
2002 – 20th Anniversary Year of Any Baby Can, Inc.Austin Any Baby Can Child & Family Resource Center moves into new facility at 1121 E. 7th Street. Austin, Texas.
2004 – The Small Communities Outreach Unit of Texas in Kerrville becomes Any Baby Can of the Texas Hill Country.
